Money for Well

Yeah!!!!! The money is all in!!!!!!!! Through God's perfect plan, $8,377 has been raised. YIPEE. Now those orphans will have a better future. Praise God. I never, never, thought that much would come in. Never underestimate the power of God. He has done it all.
In shock(or maybe I should say awe),

Fishy

WARNING: Do not read this if you hate trying new foods!

That said, I will begin my tale. It is a fishy sort of tale because it involves fish which makes it fishy. I went to the fish market with Debbie. They have many type of fish like: Stingray, marlin, tuna, squid. Afterwards, we were hungry and so sought out a place to satisfy the cravings of hunger. Debbie suggested that we try a "GREAT" fish taco place right down the street. So after a little convincing(I am not really a seafood person) we all ordered and ate delicious tacos. The thing we didn't remember was to ask as to what type of fish was in the tacos. Debbie told us later that it was not really fish, it was SHARK! So now my tale is told. I hope you will brave your worst fears and try something new, exotic, out of the ordinary. You will not be disapointed, maybe a little surprised. After all, now I can say I have eaten shark, Can you?

The appster strikes again!

The night before we left on our travels, Apple struck again. Here is the story:
Mom went out to the garden to turn off the watering sytem when she heard a peculiar noise in the corn. It was a crunching sort of sound. So she sent Jelliot out to check what it was. Aaaagh disaster! Apple had gotten into the corn and stepped on the stalks and ate them. There are only a few survivors. Of course she got in trouble and was taken back to her house. We then investigated why she would do such a thing. It turned out that Dad had harvested some ears of corn that evening. He then took the stalks and fed them to Apple. She liking them so much, went through the electric fence to get some more. Thus this is the end of my tale.

I have one more thing to add to the list of things eaten by Apple:
1. A leather belt. This was how we hung her bell on her neck.

God Bless,
Heidi

Mexico!

Hi Friends, Family, and all the rest! Mexico was a huge eye-opener. The poverty is abundant, but the people are soooo open to the gospel. We were able to see the work of a friend Juan Domingo. He has started several churches, a bible school. orphanages, and a special needs orphanage is being built right now as God provides the funds. Juan has obeyed the LORD with his life, and now the LORD is blessing him.

One thing he said really hit home:
Obedience is not obedience if you want to do it, because you didn't do it to obey, but to please yourself. Obedience is obedience when you don't want to obey but still do.

I had some interesting experiences like one time I was dropped off at a Mexican family's house to help them cook food for the outreach. They didn't speak much English and I do not speak much Spanish. It was fun trying to communicate with them using signs or attempting to say words in Espaniol. I did pick up a little spanish, ok, maybe only a few words.

In Mexico they don't have rules like: buckle your seat belt, drive the speed-limit, ride inside your truck not outside. It was fun. We also had some of the best food ever. The pan dulce was very good.

The outreach was very succesful. Over 500 people came and were blessed. It was a very winsome way to share the gospel. So despite all, I survived and did not get kidnapped.
I am in CA and will back soon. I definitely miss all you folks. Take care.

Very short joke from CFC

What do you call a cow that is on the ground?
Ground Beef!

I am back!

I know, I know, You all missed me horribly. I have abandoned you for the sunnier side of the state. Just Kidding! I had the most wonderfullest and laughiest(I don't know if they are words, but if they weren't they are now) times imaginable. Stories to come. We were at CFC! I learned soooooooo much. The interns were hilarious, talented and able to keep the attention of us crazy teens. God has given them gifts which they are sharing with others. The vision of raising up Christians to serve others by using the "priviledge of the platform" is definitely contagious.

I was able to get out of my box. One leader, Krisy, had us roll up pieces of paper. Then we had to hit chairs with them while shouting at the chairs, "You are a grilled cheese sandwhich, and I am going to melt you!" I was also made to stand on a chair and scream YA as loud as I could, and dance while singing the spiderman song. We kind of went crazy as you can see.

After doing the above things, I gave three speeches and thought I did really bad. But I really won first place in two of them. Yea! I have never gotten first place before, so that was very neat. I have so many good memories to share with you and so, so many jokes as well. If you want to hear them, comment me.
Thank you for your patience.
Love,
Heidi

I will try to post more about this later, but I am being dragged off to pack my bag!

Funny paper I wrote

Hi everybody! I know this may sound weird, but I actually wrote a very short paper about algebra. Here it is:

Algebra, Algebra, Algebra! Have you ever wondered why it was created? (This is detective Heidi on the case) After conducting a long thorough study of the subject, I came to this conclusion. Algebra was created to torture the minds of helpless teenagers! Just Kidding! Algebra is a tool that you will need in your future. Without it you will not be able to solve the problems you face everyday.

What can you actually use it for? Here is an example:
One day your brother comes into the room and asks you, "If I put $5.00 into the bank, and the compound interest rate is ___. After 5 years I would have $25.00. How much is the interest rate?"
See, now you know why you need algebra. It may be hard to learn at first, but keep going. It will become easier if you persevere. After all would you really like to be teased by your brother for not being able to solve such a simple problem?

So now you know that I am not your normal kid. You must be thinking"How sad, she actually likes math."
I have a chalenge for you. Solve the problem above, and comment the answer to me!
God bless,
Heidi <><

Proverbs 31 woman.........Found!

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

She brings him good,
not harm, all the days of her life.

She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.

She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.

When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

I would like to proudly say that my mom is all of these things. She is a wonderful mom. Tomorrow is her 50th birthday. God has blessed me, and I really don't deserve her. Thank you Mom!

God bless,
Heidi

Stuffing Competition for i1000!

Hi friends,
Today we stuffed nearly 4,000 envelopes. It was really fun. Lots of good natured competition went on. My brother got the brunt of it. His lack of ability to stay up with G-man showed. Garrett completed three stuffings to Jelliots one. When his older sister tried the same thing, she was able to stay even or go faster than Garrett. HA HA I wonder who that would be? (he, JE, is not mortally offended, at least not after some treats)

Kristen, Kelsea, Sarah, and all the others were very helpful. So a big THANK YOU to all who helped. God sees all your efforts. Also pray for Dr. Sharon as she has a big debate tomorrow with the opposition. She has poured all her energy into stopping i1000.
God bless you,
Heidi

The Appster

My funny naughty cow Apple!

The appster is a naughty cow. A few things she has eaten include, but are not limited to:

1. Eating the sleeves off a sweatshirt.

2. Eating 50 feet of plastic tape.

3. Eating her fly mask.

4. Eating a hose.

5. Eating our blueberry bushes. To this day, we still do not know how she did that. There was no way in and no signs of how she got in.

6. Eating all the fly traps in her house. They are the kind you hang from the ceiling that are all sticky. Yuck!

Well, now you now all the trouble this bovine has caused. Apple is pregnant with her first calf, which is due in March. She loves to follow me around and do other such things. She doesn't let us ever get bored. I will post pics of her later on when I figure out how to.

I am continually getting teased by the neighbors that I have a lap cow. I know, I know, just because she only answers to precious does not mean I spoil her. Of course not! (well maybe just a little) She does go to a day care.

God Bless,
Heidi

Cooking creativity!

Have you ever wondered what really goes into that piece of yellow cake that you are eating right now? This is Heidi, the under-cover cooking detective. I want to tell you the truth about the cake that you all thought was normal. Nothing is ever normal. Okay, are you ready to hear the secret ingredient? It is shocking to think that they would put such a thing into our food. What is it you say? Its......................Yellow Crook Neck SQUASH. Has your appetite gone away yet? If you want to be healthy, (and thought of as a little crazy) come over to our house and enjoy a piece of this moist cake. It is unlike anything you will ever taste. Until my next discovery in the kitchen, signing out, Heidi the under-cover cooking detective.

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace!
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;’
Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
-John Newton

Vacation Fun

Hey everone, we are escaping the iron hand of school til the 28th!! Isn't that great? Vacation plans include Spokane for Communicators for Christ (They make you stand up in front of a room full of people and give a speech, aaaaaah SCARY!). After that we go on to California for relatives and .................Disney Land! Then down to the hot country of Mexico for a missions outreach with one of Daddy's friends. I hope you all enjoy the tortures of school, the horrible homework assignments, and whatever else may come your way in P.E.! Just kidding! I hope you all enjoy this coming school year, and do your very best for the glory of God.

Life is short

Have any of you ever stopped to number your days? In reality we don't have that many. We are all limited by time. Death is approaching us, yes, every one of us. What things do we want to accomplish, but always put off? No one knows when he will die so spend so spend your life in a manner which you can stand before God and not look back and say "Wow what a total waste"!We all need to spend our limited time on earth in a way that glorifies God. He will use us for his purposes. He is the one who made us, so trust him. He will guide your paths. Life is short, live it well.

Psalms

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Fun at Friends house

Yesterday, I went to my friend Kelsea's house. We made some delicious mini sponge cakes with a fudge sauce topping. We also dressed the littles (Katie and Kristina)to be like Anastasia from Cinderella. They both looked hilarious. We also did the worst possible make-up job on them, at their request. That was really fun. I hope you all have a great day!!! - Heidi

Dig Deep Get Well

Hey all you helpers! I just wanted to say a big thanks to YOU! Without your help we could not have raised nearly three thousand dollars!!! Because we did not have many people come, we were able to talk to just about everyone. We don't know how many lives were touched, but God does. I know God is still working through this. Only two nights ago, we were stopped by a neighbor who wants to contribute more, and has a friend who wants to contribute. And yesterday another neighbor made a donation!

Keep praying for the Tracht Family and their work with orphans. They are carrying out the great commission.
God bless,
Heidi

LOVE

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
LOVE NEVER FAILS!
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

I love this passage. God has given us each the wonderful task in life to love Him and to love our neighbor. This is the sum of the law. Have a wonderful day!
God Bless, Heidi

Initiative 1000

Hey everybody! I just wanted to ask for your prayers that I-1000 would be stopped. This is a bill that legalizes physician-assisted suicide. It has already been legalized in Oregon and in Holland. This allows doctors to give terminally ill patients pills to kill themselves. We are all called to protect the weak in the Bible.

Proverbs 31:9

Speak up and judge fairly;

defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Psalm 111

Praise the LORD.

I will extol the LORD with all my heart
in the council of the upright and in the assembly.

Great are the works of the LORD;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
and his righteousness endures forever.
He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
He provides food for those who fear him;
he remembers his covenant forever.
He has shown his people the power of his works,
giving them the lands of other nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy.
They are steadfast forever and ever,
done in faithfulness and uprightness.
He provided redemption for his people;
he ordained his covenant forever
holy and awesome is his name.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise.
