Thanksgiving was lovely....

We had so much fun with our good friends the Hess's, Bells, and the other Bell family. :)
Snowball fights in the dark, Taylor swift, Football, Catchphrase, and hearing the family play made for an awesome evening. :D

CMS

This year I had the priveledge of attending Christian Musicians Summit with my church!
It was a blast!
There were so many friends there and we did some awesome crazy stuff. :) If you were there you know what i am talking about! :D
Anyhoodles, we just had a blast!
Probably my two favorite musicians were Jonathan Lee and the guitar guy(I can't remember his name for the life of me).
That weekend was probably just about as crazy as it could get. We had three of the Hess's staying with us. That was crazy. :D
But it was generally an awesome time... :D LOL it was crazy rocking out during the jazz session, or the girls car! you are probably all wondering what that is, but what goes on in the girls car stays in the girls car. if you get what i mean. :D But anyhoodles, I had so much fun chillin with the Harpers, Debusscheres, Engstroms, Johnsons, Mullins, Babbitts, etc... Totally amazing people and great friends....! :D

Another friend is in heaven.......

Grace died on Saturday. She would have been 98 on December 3rd. She was amazing!
Definitely one of the sweetest ladies you would ever meet. We became friends when I was three. She and I have written and visited back and forth throughout the years. I love Grace.... but God loves her more...... I'm glad for her that she is with Him now.

Why I haven't posted for several months

Life should be lived and not observed. Thus i haven't had to sit at home writing about life because i am living it.
I will try to post every couple of months, but probably not more than that.
Quick update:
Summer went too fast! :D
I am working at a grocery store doing the accounting and such.
I am going to Green River college for Running Start. I absolutely love it!!!! So many good friends and old homies go there.
I am not really homeschooling anymore except for physics class
Sarah has been at college since August and we miss her tons.
My Grandpa in China had some health issues and had us all scared for a while. I might be going out there to visit him over Thanksgiving. But that is still not all the way decided yet.
i have to take the PSAT on Saturday (AAAAHHHHHHH) :D
My parents started an apologetics club at our house.

So there you have it. A quick major event update. Of course there have been tons more going on, but i don't have time today.

Regionals 2010!

Regionals 2010 starts on Wednesday!!! Its going to be a great tournament, my last one of the year. :(
This year in NCFCA has been amazing. I am competing in LD at my second Regional Qualifier!!!!!! God blessed me and allowed me to break at my second tournament ever competing in LD. He is SO good. Praise Him for His many blessings.

Ever since being pulled out of school at the end of January (God guided my parents), I have my life back. So many interesting adventures have been had. So many friends have been made. So many good times and memories have been created. :D
Lately I have read through the book of Ephesians several times and this passage just sticks out to me. Ephesians 3:16-19
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Small things, huge blessings....

Going through old pictures of days long gone and seeing all the people who I have known and loved has been interesting. Its the small things, that have resulted in blessings. I was reminded of the time when I was three and I grew some potatoes(with help of course) and decided that my neighbor needed some. So we took them over to her house and she was so pleased. That night she had me stay for dinner, and we became lifelong friends. She is now 95 and we still write back and forth, since our family moved to a different town almost 13 years ago. God sends us special people who He wants us to reach out to and love. Memories of family, friends, neighbors and strangers who have crossed my path and reached out to me flood back. Now is my turn to reach out to those who God has placed in my life. Maybe its the Grandparents at the local nursing home, or the bus kids at my church. Wherever and whoever they are, they are loved by God and so I will love them as well. One verse that really sticks out to me right now is Galations 5:6b - The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
Faith expressing itself through love should be what each of us strive to do. Follow the role of Christ in this. He was the perfect model of faith and love.
Looking back and remembering is wonderful, but looking forward and wondering what God is going to use me to do is even more exciting. The future is unclear, but God holds my future and in Him there is no fear of what may happen. He guides each of our lives.

Home Again...

Hi everyone!!!
Its great to be back!!!!! God blessed me with an amazing trip!!!!! He is sooo good.
Time with family was great. Everyone is growing so big. The baby, Hope, is almost a toddler. I stayed with my 10 Greek Orthodox cousins and Aunt and Uncle.
Idaho Tournament was a good opportunity to practice speaking better, and improve skills. I placed 11th in LD, and 9th in LD speaks... :D

Regional tournament is coming up here in a 12 days......AHHHHHHHH!
This is one of my favorite tournaments. You get to see the top people in our area compete to go on to Nationals. And being only 20 minutes away is a huge blessing when you have to be there at 7:00 each morning.... :D

Chalenged

Mr. Shanks, the TeenPact guest director gave us a little message each night after worship. Two of them really hit me. One of them was about the red dot principle. You know how in airports they have these maps that say You are here, that is what he was talking about. Everybody needs to know where they are before they can go anywhere. God tells us just where we are when we pray and read His Word. Find out from Him where you are, and then follow where He leads you.
The second one that just struck me as so important was the one on prayer. Lately I have been praying more prayers petitionally that relationally. God wants us to have a relationship with Him, and prayer is the way we communicate with God. Often many of us just treat God like he is Santa Claus, just there to answer and give us and others what they want. He is not our butler.
Philippians 3:8 says: "What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Jesus Christ my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
Paul considered anything he had been given as rubbish compared to knowing Christ. The relationship is what counts, not what you obtain from it. Just knowing Jesus more should be our focus. Try for a week to just pray because you want to spend time with Jesus and grow to love Him more. Believe me, it will be worth it. :)
TeenPact worship and messages in the evening are always inspiring and encouraging. That's just another plus :D I know, you get the point. I think TeenPact is amazing. And it is. Really. :D

Lately

Hey Y'all,
How are you all doing?
This year has been tough, but a good tough. God is so good. Lately He has been teaching me just to trust Him for everything. I am a worrier. But lately, just reminding myself every day that He is in control and nothing happens that God does not know about has helped me so much. No more tension headaches!!!!!!! You know sometimes I start trying to plan my future(I say trying because it never works out the way I planned) and then God gently tells me, "Heidi, thats not what I have for you, My plan for you is so much better that what you have for yourself. Just trust me for what you do not see. Have faith that I will take care of you." Every time that I give it up to God, it turns out 100 times better than what I had planned.
So I just wanted to share with you all about something the Lord has been teaching me. Trust, and Faith.

Traveling

I am going to Idaho for the Salt and Light NCFCA Tournament. Then afterwards I will be heading down to CA for a while.... So many things going on. Sarah, JE and Mom leave for Massechusettes tomorrow morning. Then they are going to CA and on to Colorado. Life is crazy, but a good crazy. :D

TeenPact

This year at TeenPact was amazing!!!! The staff were wonderful. We had Quinton Cools, Kira Clark, Jimmy, Tara, Tim Elliot, and Molly Reich as state staff. Our Interns were August Huckabee, Bryne Goode, and program Director Caleb Baitz. And I shouldn't neglect our camera man, Isaac Harris. Ultimate was great. There were a ton of new kids this year. My brother JE, Hannah Solem, and Michael Turner were the WA state Representatives. Ben Solem was Governor. I grew so much spiritually, and made many lasting friendships. This ministry is so needed in our generation. TeenPact is preparing young people to step out and lead through serving. Its amazing how many lives are changed through it. Every night each cabin gathers together for Rondevue where we talk and pray. It was a great time to just share with other likeminded Christian girls. :D
I would love to staff sometime in the future. Right now, I am just planning my trip to Survival. :D Its going to be amazing. TeenPact and NCFCA have been two of the best things I have done for school, and I should say fun as well. Thats all for now....
I don't know what God has for my future, but He does. And Right now, I am just going to trust Him to take care of it.....:) God has been working on my heart the past week to just rest in what He has planned for me. Who knows what lies just around the corner???:)

Tournament

This past week we had the Silversmith Speech and Debate Tournament. It was AWESOME!!! I got to seee sooooo many of my friends, and watch some great/ super funny speeches. Next week is Clarion Tourny. We are staying at the Deems. Tina and I will get to go on Friday after our volleyball game. Anyhoo, just wanted to update you all. Oh and John and Sarah did super good. They qualified to Regionals in everything. But they didn't place that well, and still they qualified. It was a good tournament. JE and I played jokes on people and had random competitions, and did random stuff, and made Matt have an interesting day.......yeah.... well never mind, but it was funny. so bye now.

Clarion

I am going to Clarion and we get to stay with the Deems'!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! YAY.
